Poetry Contest Guidelines:
Contest Dates: May 14th-May 25th, All submissions due by the end of school Friday, May 25th.
All poems must be your original work.
Poem Format
Choose any style of poetry that you like for example: free verse, haiku, rhyming poems, cinquains, or diamante.Poetry can be written in any poetic style and on any topic that is school appropriate
Begin with a creative title for your poem.
Type your poem, single spaced in 14-point font, using any style that inspires you
Double space between stanzas.
How to Enter:
Print two copies of your poem( one with your name and one copy without) and submit both copies to your ELA teacher.
Prizes: The winners, chosen from each grade, will receive a $25.00 Amazon gift card.
Judging and Other Information:
Poems will be judged by WHMS staff.
Poems will be judged on title, content, originality,creativity and poetic style.
